Welcome to my blog! First off, my name is Anna Prevatte. I am from Greenville, North Carolina. I love to dance, sing, and when I am in the car with my friends, do both quite badly! I enjoy being outdoors, especially when I am with people that make me laugh. Above all, Jesus has given me a heart that yearns to love others and bring God the glory in the process!

For the past twelve years, I have attended school and am getting ready to graduate from D.H. Conley High School in June of 2016. Every Summer since ninth grade, I have had the privilege of going on one or more mission trips both in the U.S., to Atlanta and Chicago, as well as internationally, to Belize and, most recently, the Dominican Republic. In each and every one of these places, the Lord has revealed to me the brokenness of the world. Through this continuing journey, God has taught me more and more about loving him through loving others.

After seeing God move people’s hearts through me and those I was with, I began feeling a call to do more. I began praying for an opportunity to share God’s love in a new way. It was in this state of prayer that a friend of mine told me about Adventures in Missions and World Race: Gap Year.

One thing I failed to mention in my opening paragraph is my love for movies. My least favorite movie is What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and my favorite is School of Rock! When I was younger, and partially still now, High School Musical was/is one of my all time favorite movies. I loved everything about it from the dancing to the singing! If you have seen it then you know that Troy was the schools basketball star and Gabriela was the genius new girl. However, when they broke these molds, it turned the whole school upside down. This chaos brought on lots of confusion and caused one of my favorite songs to occur, Stick to the Status Quo. For my life, sticking to the status quo means going to college right out of high school, and following that with getting a steady job. However, much like Troy and Gabriela, I have chosen to break my mold and stray from what is the status quo.

I am so priviledged to have this call to be God’s hands and feet on the World Race: Gap Year!
