So… It’s easy to show the fun, the beautiful, the lovely moments through pictures! So here’s my little highlight reel from Month 10 in Nicaragua.

Our welcome- We were welcomed to our little home for the month by this lovely group of dancers. They sang and we danced together, and they presented us with gifts and a delicious dinner of ‘rice con pollos’.

Our lovely hostess, Kerri. I know the birthday mask hides a lot, but she really is the greatest!!!

And this is what happens when it is raining in the house when we have a feeding program! Our fearless team leader, Emily Werness bridges the gap with the umbrella while we carry plates of food to the children.

(Although our house did flood, we shared many laughs with the team as we camped together in the one room that didn’t flood.)

The little cuties that enjoyed the food prepared by Aunt.

Yup… Just some of our precious people that made leaving Nicaragua so hard. Love these little ladies!!

And some other pretty little ladies! Our next door neighbours were always there to greet us with a smile. Whether it was bowling, baseball, or colouring in the street, our sweet little neighbours loved to hang out with us.

My team mate, Ashley Albert, loves to colour! And apparently, little boys love to colour Disney princesses as well!!!

Since we had our own kitchen we did a lot of cooking, and therefore we took many trips to the market. Plantains!?! Yes please!!!

And this…is Peri! Peri was an Exposure student who joined us for the month. She is a sweetheart and it was so great to have her part of our team. We miss you, Peri!

My favourite- Sunday baseball!

Ahhhh yessss!!! Fresh enchiladas after baseball. Delicious!

And then… There was volcano boarding! After a great hike up Cierra Negro, Nicaragua’s youngest volcano, we enjoyed a beautiful and thrilling ride down. It was pretty great! Not to mention- my team followed it by surprising me with a Frozen themed birthday party!

But sometimes… pictures don’t always show the true picture. Not every moment is rainbows, smiles, and confetti.

So here is just a quick little overview of some of the hard moments that come along with the great adventure of travelling the world.

Something I have been struggling a lot with lately is overwhelming exhaustion. I have heard of people becoming burnt out and exhausted on the race and I never thought it could happen to me. I never realized that constant packing and moving, heart breaking goodbyes every month, and a language barrier could possibly be so exhausting.

As much as I love my World race family, sometimes I find it a little overwhelming. Sometimes I want to be alone. Sometimes I want my independence.

And sometimes I put my identity in the wrong place and I feel insecure in the Father’s love for me.

So… There ya go! The highlight reel plus more. And still at the end of the day- GOD IS SO SO GOOD!

And here I am in Costa Rica- Month 11 of 11. Our team is arriving at our ministry site tomorrow. This month we will be building a children’s home, living in tents, and bathing in a river.

Please pray for us for renewed energy that we can fully invest in our last month.

See ya at home in August!
