We waited outside the locked door. Across the street, the men were celebrating Barcelona’s 3 to 1 win.
And then she opened the door. That is when I met Victoria.
After some small talk, Kerri invited her and her grandchildren to the feeding program that evening.
Then she started talking about her leg. A small hole in her leg has become infected and the vein is inflamed. The hole is in the middle of her shin, but the skin below has already turned a dark colour. The surgery that could save her leg costs $500 that she doesn’t have.
We asked if we could pray for her. She said she was always in pain, even lying down, so I gently cradled the back of her leg.
And then we started to pray. I know when this beautiful woman opens her mouth- the devil is terrified! We cried out to the Lord together.
After we prayed- she said she begs the Lord to heal her, but if He doesn’t and she dies, she is excited to go to heaven.
Even in her circumstances, always in pain, this lovely woman is still full of the joy of the Lord. I have prayed over this woman three times in three days and always when we finish praying- she hugs me with a huge smile on her face.
