While in Cambodia I spent a lot of time with some great young men who without Vuthy and the place he has given them to live and study would be facing impossible situations. Instead doors are being open for them as they have come to know Jesus as their Savior and are seeing dreams that they though were impossible just a few months ago begin to come true.

I sat down with a few of the boys and they shared their stories ( Pictures by Alysa Sharp)

Kevin: is 13 years old,  since he was one year's old has lived with his grand-mum.  She lives a few minutes away from the Light of Hope ministry center.  He has lived with Vuthy for four years before coming here to live he was living in Phenom pen but struggling to study instead of going to school  He would go with his friends to find bottles in order to get money to help his grandmother.  They came to the village and met Vuthy who told him that he could live with him and study English. Before moving here Kevin was not a Christian, but through the ministry he started to learn more about Jesus; Kevin said, " one day I prayed and God  revealed HIMSELF to me, through scripture.  He read, " Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7 NIV) after that  I accepted Jesus as my savior.

Kevin is a great child with a servant's heart; he loves GOD with his whole heart and wants to be a pastor when he grows up.

(Vannet)                                                                             (Noah)

Vannet is 14 and has been living at the center for about a year.  His family lives in another village and know Vuthy.  When he first came here he was not a Christian, his family is Buddhist. As he started studying English he learned a lot more.  He learned about God and His love for him by attending the school. His family is supportive of him as he strives to learn more English and grow in his relationship with God.

Kosal known to us as Noah, has lived here for 6 months.  He is 14 years old and has lived in the village all of his life.  He is living at the center because he wanted to learn English and the Bible.  He had been coming to learn English for about three months before he moved in. Through coming to the school he learned about Jesus and surrendered his life to HIM.  He wants to go to the university and study music in a few years when he's finished with school, because he dream of being a musician and also of going to America someday.

Kosal's favorite scripture is;
The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil. (John 7:7 NIV)
