I pulled out an old t-shirt tonight that I haven't seen in a very long time. I can't believe I still have it after all these years. It's a retreat t-shirt from my days as part of Pivotal: A young adults group that I was part of while attending Grace Chapel in Lexington, Mass. The idea was to have a group for those at a "Pivotal" point in their lives mostly 18 to 25 year olds, in a time of transition. For me I was transitioning from relying on my parents to relying on GOD, and learning how to have a real relationship with HIM! God took me out of my comfort zone to grow me closer to HIM.
I've definitely had many pivotal transitions over time, but dedicating 11 months to serving God's people is a BIG one. After I first heard about The World Race I "tabled it" and told GOD (why do we do that) now NOW, thinking that I would go on a mission trip some other way. Well here I am two and a half years later leaving in two and a half months, at a turning point that is moving into an even deeper more reliant on God lifestyle.
"The Prayer of Jabez" is a one of the verses that became very important to me during my pivotal group days and still is.
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request. (1 Chronicles 4:10 NIV)
Thank you for coming along side me in prayer and financial sponsorship as God IS expanding my territory and leading me into greater things.
