Never [not] be Afraid
In the movie The Croods we meet a "modern" family, that has a lot to teach us. After watching it for the third time and in honor of month 7, I came up with 7 lessons that this family teaches us.

-
Fear not- The Croods are living their life in fear when we first meet them. They run into caves to hide from animals and they are afraid of all of the unknowns arounds them. By the end they were stepping out in faith. Taking the initial step of faith is scary but we can't get stuck by fear. The bible tells us To fear not. A good reminder for me of why I'm on the Race.
-
Trust – the new "Guy" came along and he had great ideas, but the family had to learn to trust Him. Just as we have to learn to trust God's love and guidance. God calls us to Trust HIM more!!!!
-
Live dangerously- the Croods live in fear but we are called to step out even when we're not sure of what will happen. Jump in and go for it.
-
Don't let pride stop you: Grug (the dad) was prideful and set in his ways. This was preventing his family from living fully. God puts people in our path so we can ask for help.
Many times over the last several months we have gotten lost and have had to ask directions through broken English and so many time as we have humbled ourselves to ask God for help HE has brought people along who have shown us directly to where we wanted to go
5. Busy – "being under satan's yoke" – sometimes we are so busy trying really hard to do everything that we become distracted. When we're busy doing we forget that we are human beings not doings as one of our recent contacts reminded us.
6. Follow the light- The family was looking for something for them it is was the light- the Sun. Our more is Jesus- The One and only SON of God- He is the light of the world…
7. Nothing is too hard for God: in the end of the movie Grug and the family were separated but what seemed impossible happened; the family reunited. There are times when circumstances seem impossible there were points when I wasn't sure the money would come in for the race but God has provided and He has made my faith greater as I have trusted Him to bring in the funds. And now I'm FULLY FUNDED!!!
