Month 10 is about to begin, and we are  heading  to Africa. The first of our last two months will be spent in Swaziland.

About Swaziland

Swaziland, one of the last absolute monarchies in the world, is one of the smallest countries in Africa and has a well-earned reputation for friendliness in Southern Africa. It also contains several large game parks and reserves, which are sponsored by the government and are popular tourist destinations.

Compared to other countries in the region, Swaziland is known for its civility and peacefulness, despite similar   problems with poverty and one of the world's worst AIDS crises. As of November 2008 the total reported percentage of those with HIV was listed as 30%; this, of course, does not include those who have not yet been tested. The AIDS epidemic has broken up the traditional extended family unit, leaving many young children orphaned and fighting for survival.

This month our ministry will be  at El Shaddai Orphanage.  We will be living on top of a beautiful mountain.  I am looking forward to living at El Shaddai with the rest of the women from our squad.  We will be doing various ministries around the compound including gardening and spending time with the children. You can visit the website for the orphanage and learn more at www.elshaddaiswazi.org.

Please pray this month:

For our relationships with the children and the contacts; that they would be strong and that we would be an encouragement to one another.

Thank you for your support, prayers, and words of encouragement.  We made it to month 10!!!
