Now that you heard about my spiritual journey through Nepal I thought I’d write that fun blog about this crazy wild adventure!!! So here’s the blog about “This one time I was in Nepal…”
So this one time when I was backpacking in Nepal…..
1. I sat on a “bus” that probably dated back to the early 1970’s and was built for anyone under 5’5″. Never expect to get sleep on a bus through Nepal, every bump and turn you WILL feel, and there are lots! Dirt roads for days!
2. We went to the “bathroom” in a square cement room, and peed onto the bare cement floor while standing in other people’s …….yeah well you get the gist….. not a joke……
3. I had to walk through corn fields past cows on the side of the road just to get to town.
4. I bathed from a water pump that smelled like sulfur.
5. I watched the sunrise over the Himalayas on a hillside
6. I had no internet for 22 full days, and it was fantastic
7. I hiked for 4 hours up and down the foothills of Nepal to reach a small village in the mountains.
8. I woke up to the sound of baby goats and roosters.
9. I bathed in an ice cold river, and washed my clothes at the same time.
10. We dug up tree stumps for firewood every morning and evening.
11. We boiled water over a fire so we could safely drink it. We also filtered river water to drink with a fancy filter.
12. We carried 1,000 bricks, 3 at a time, 100 yards at a time, up a mountain, just to build a school.
13. We ate the same meal 3 times a day without any variation……
14. We started dreaming of food.
15. I wore 5 layers of clothes to bed, in my tent, and I was still cold.
16. I listened to the silence
17. I breathed the fresh air.
18. I walked through 14 rivers, waist high, to get home.
19. I lived the simple life for three weeks.
20. I experienced Freedom!
