A few weeks before leaving for the Race, I had a retreat for a class I was taking at my church. It was a class on all different justice issues, and the retreat was our closing event. It was to really focus on what is next, what do we do with the information and knowledge we have gained from the last 30 weeks. For me it was a little different, because I knew I was going on the Race. We had a lot of times of silence. In one of them, we were supposed to ask God where He is leading us. At this point I was starting to feel just a little anxious about my upcoming mission trip. I had a song in my head, called “Whisper to Me” by Bebo Norman. I listened to this song, because music speaks to me in so many ways, and thought it might help me focus. The words were perfect. When the song was done, I was listening for God’s voice. Then a tiny bunny came over by me. It slowly hopped closer and closer until it was right at my feet. It actually started to nibble on my shoe, and was about to get my foot. I moved my foot just a bit, and the bunny moved back a bit. It stayed for a while, and then hopped off. It was so small and quiet, but it was a powerful voice. It was God’s sweet whisper saying

“you may not know the places your feet will go, but I will be with you every step of the way!”
