On Wednesday, as we touched down in El Salvador I was amazed by the beauty of His creation. I’m pretty sure I may have overreacted at the sight of my first volcano as we were circling around for the landing. The sight of mountain ranges and the coastline side by side is a kind of exotic beauty that I will never get used to. I don’t understand how people can experience the majesty of His creation and still say that there is no God. All I can do is stand in awe of the amazingness of our Creator.

Team Dauntless has been blessed. Not only is our mission contact beyond amazing, but for the next three months we get to serve in a small surf town on the coast. Although we won’t solely be working in an orphanage as I had originally thought, I’m excited to see what will come out of our ministry. We have the opportunity to integrate ourselves into this community and build relationships with our neighbors. Also, because the town we are in is a popular tourist town we get to minister to people beyond just the permanent residents of the town.

The church will be our home for the next three months. We have our tents set up (the cool people have enos) in our own little “tree house”. It is really just a raised deck above the open area where they have their church services.

It is beginning to sink in that this is my life for the next nine months. There is no going back. These people are my family now. This place is my home. In three months I’ll have a new home. And three months after that, another new home. I’m not just here for a visit. I get to experience this culture and do life with these people.

As always, thank you so much for your support!
