It’s been almost two months since I’ve blogged and I apologize for that, but so much has happened since then. This is just a short update on how things have been here in El Salvador.

Dengue Fever! – Yes I got sick and it was not one of the greatest experiences of my life, but I slept for nearly four entire days so I don’t really remember being sick. Also, luckily I got sick days before debrief so I had an entire week to recover and I didn’t need to miss ministry!

Debrief – Debrief was a week in the middle of our time here in El Salvador that my squad spent away from our ministry to relax and spend time together. It was a great week just to hangout and recharge for the rest of our time here in El Sal!

Welcome Team Meek – After debrief Team Meek moved to El Tunco to join us in ministry. They are also an all-girls team, so there are currently twelve girls living in one place. YIKES! Okay it really is not that bad and if I’m being honest I love having them here, getting to know them, and doing ministry with them.

Antigua – My team and Team Meek got the chance to go to Antigua, Guatemala for a weekend. It was a weekend of fun, kite festivals, good food, and even better coffee. Antigua was one of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever seen and I got to see my sister, who is currently living in Guatemala!

La Casita Program – On November 16, we began La Casita, which is a summer school program for the children in the community. There are a total of 96 children enrolled; 48 attend on Monday and Tuesday and the other 48 attend Wednesday and Thursday. Every day the children have computer, art, English, and reading comprehension classes. I got the chance to teach several of the English classes. There are days that the kids all seem to be going crazy but it is worth it all just to watch the excitement in their eyes as they learn something new.

I have two days left here in El Tunco before meeting up with my squad for a few days of rest before we head for Africa. The goodbyes have already begun and as much as I hate goodbyes, I will forever be grateful for the relationships that I started he in El Sal!

Keep your eyes open for my next blog! I know it’s been ages but I promise to have one up sometime soon.

much love,

Anna
