When I first met this Nepali woman I was amazed at her constant smile & lighthearted outlook on life. Benita is her name. This is her & her daughter. They live on 2000 rupees a month ($20.00). She has faced lots of rejection & abandonment from the people that were SUPPOSED to love her the most… How could she be so joyfilled when her family wants nothing to do with her? How could she laugh without a care in the world when her father has told her he is extremely disappointed in her because of decisions she has made? What about raising her daughter on her own because her husband decided to marry another woman?
She says her joy has come from finding a better family. One that will not leave her or abandon her. She has found a better, more perfect Father & Creator who will not reject her for the decisions she has made. She can laugh without a care in the world because she has a relationship with Jesus.
I have had the privilege of loving on the Nepali people along side this woman for the last week. I am overwhelmed by her resilience in the face of adversity.
