Hello!

My name is Ann Marie Carlson and I am going on The World Race in August 2019! I am 22 years old and from Greensboro, North Carolina. For the past three and a half years I have been in the heart of New York City at The King’s College, a small Christian liberal arts school. I will graduate in May 2019 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

I have an amazing and supportive family helping me make this trip happen, my mother (Lisa), father (Chris), sister (Callie) and my brother (Covington). While I grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina I spent my summers on the coast in Wilmington and Beaufort. Wilmington is where I found my love for fishing and skiing from my Dad. Beaufort, where I taught girls seamanship skills at Camp Seafarer and got my NC Real Estate license just like my mother!

I am currently a finance intern at a non-profit in New York, charity: water. charity: water brings clean safe drinking water to developing countries around the world. I have absolutely loved working for this organization and it has played an instrumental role in my choosing to go on The World Race post-grad. I will get to serve in 4 countries that charity: water is currently doing work and I get to see first hand the people and communities we have been helping. Spring 2019 I will be staying at charity: water and interning with Brand Partnership while taking my last three classes.

When summer comes I will be back at Camp Seafarer working as a program director until I launch! I will be able to work with my brother Covington and spend time with my mother all summer before I leave for the most challenging and rewarding 11 months of my life.

In order to make this race a reality, I will need to fundraise $19,200. I am asking for any donations that you can make to help me on this journey! If financial donations are not possible, I would love prayer for peace, safety, and the people I will be working with!

Best,

Ann Marie Carlson
