Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog and a lot has happened in the last two months, so I thought I’d make it a fun photo blog!
Since the last time I wrote a blog, we said goodbye to the Hope Project and headed to debrief. Debrief is a time for the squad to rest, reflect on the past season, and prepare for the next one. For D squad, that meant a week at La Montaña Christian Camp in the mountains! Our squad leadership team also gets to come out and catch up with us, and the week is filled with fun events as well as teachings.
1. Ang showing off her skills on the ropes course π
2. The lake! We spent a whole day just swimming, flipping off the rope swing, going down the water slide, and launching people off the blob !
Then it was off to the Dominican Republic! This travel day wasn’t quite as long as our first one, but we still had two 3-hour bus rides, two flights, and a six hour layover in Panama before finally arriving at the Mission of Hope base in Santiago.
These are my travel buddies, Brent and Kailey! We sit next to each other on every flight :))
I’ll share a little bit more about Mission of Hope and our ministry here in another blog, but there’s a team of Mission of Hope staff who live on base with us. Other than when we’re at ministry, this is where we spend almost of our time. We play volleyball, swim in the pool, spend time with the Lord, and cook all of our own meals. Life here looks very different from Costa Rica, but we’re adjusting well π
1. The Mission of Hope team! – going from top to bottom and left to right, Paul, Tim, Callie, Kim, Alec, and Shannon! not pictured are Austin and Paige, who were away on their break home for two weeks π

prayer requests ::
-
The spiritual warfare here is STRONG. Please pray for physical/mental/spiritual strength for me and my squad as we go out into the communities around us and spend time with people here.
-
processing – there’s been a lot of change, not just in location but also within our squad and it’s something a lot of us are still working through. Also the end of the Race is coming up and that’s a lot to think about!
-
our ministry! – SMT (strategical ministry time) has been very different from working at the Hope Project, but we’ve also seen a lot of fruit in our conversations with people and we’re excited to see how God continues to work!
Thank you all for your prayers and support!! It means a lot to me that people back home want to keep up with what God’s been doing on the Race and I can’t wait for when I get to share all of this in person π
