If home is where the heart is…I’m home
When I was around three years old a missionary from Africa came to our church. I don’t know her name or what country in Africa she had been working in. All I know is that she showed up with an elephant foot for the kids to touch and changed my life forever. From that day on all I have ever wanted to do with my life was get to Africa. I have been sure ever since that if I did, everything would work itself out from there.
June 30th 2013 I touched African soil for the first time. It was a day that I had waited for my whole life and there it was. To be honest I don’t really know what I expected but, it was everything that I ever hoped and dreamed it would be and more.
I have abandoned so many dreams in my life because Getting to Africa seemed more important. At this point I still don’t really know why. But at this point I don’t really care. All I know is that I am living in Africa for this next 3 months, it is a lifelong dream come true. And it is better and more real than a life time of dreaming.
I am so excited to see what God has for me on this great continent. It is a place that has been on my heart for such a long time.
This month my team and I (The HOLY COWs) are in Rwanda. So far we have preached a sermon every night at church, had a bible study with a group of prostitutes, and we’ve done door to door evangelism. Pray for us as we reach the people of Rwanda.
I have one week left to fundraise. I am $2,170.00 short.
