You read the title correctly: I am indeed going back to Croatia! I am unbelievably excited to be presented with this opportunity and so extremely grateful that the LORD is leading me back to the country, people, and ministry that I love so very much. Before I really get the ball rolling on this post, I strongly suggest you go read (or skim) a couple of my previous posts:
Sermon-Anxiety & Surrender and
(Untitled). I promise, they are worth the read/skim because the’ll give you some context about why I am so ecstatic about this, if you don’t already know). Go, go!
(I assume you’ve read up or already know.) During my last few days of ministry in Zambia & Africa (still weird to think that I’m not in Africa anymore), I talked to two people on staff with The Navigators about going back to Croatia for the month of July. This desire resulted from my World Race route actually. We are supposed to end in Eastern Europe (Albania) and fairly close to Croatia. We talked about the possibilities of me returning, both short-term and long-term. The realities for short-term were to visit during July on my own and/or for Croatia trip this summer (late-July through mid-August). The realities for long-term currently do not exist, much to my chagrin. I want to go back to strengthen the relationships that I started when I went originally in 2017, but to also pursue more ministry opportunities for myself and others. Even before I left Croatia the first time, I have been dreaming and scheming on how to get back to Croatia to see the kids from camp, develop relationships with their families, and walk alongside them in the hopes that they will lead lives that can be described as solely pursuing the LORD and His will for their lives. I hope to be able to support the efforts that are already being made in Croatia through The Navigators, but to also seek ministry opportunities that they are not already doing (i.e., discipleship with university students, English and religious education with Roma children, and encouraging and helping Roma children pursue things that they are passionate about).
Fortunately for me, I cannot get to Croatia by myself. I need your help to get there. So will you help me? I project that it will cost about $1500, for travel to Croatia & back to America, food, lodging, and other expenses. Those “other expenses” would cover purchasing a SIM card for the month and traveling within the country. I will be collecting donations outside of the World Race. So, please PLEASE PLEASE do not use the donate button above, because it will not be going to my Croatia trip as it is outside of the World Race. I will be collecting donations through Venmo (@Angelica_Moore). I will also be selling clothing Bonfire.com. And, finally, I will be electronically raffling off a collection of Croatian keepsakes (a postcard with a letter from one of the national missionaries, a photo of the Roma children I hope to work with, and a surprise)! I will live-stream the raffle pull on Facebook before I leave Croatia.
TL;DR: I’m going to Croatia and I need your help to get me there!
