So my time in Romania mostly involved teaching English to 10 year olds, praying and visiting people on the streets near the church, and doing home visits to church members to get to know them and pray for them. Working with Ana, the pastor’s wife, was great and I appreciated the priority that this ministry made regarding intercessory prayer 4-5 times a week every morning. Towards the end of our time there many of us got sick and then had a long travel day to get through in order to reach our contact in Albania.
What we are doing now is working at a summer camp site where we will either help work on and make improvements to the site or help run a few camps for kids.
Pray requests:
Many of us our tired and ready to come home. But we all want to finish this race well. So pray that we can love our teams, squad, ministry contact and all those we work with well. Also we all need to work on striking a balance between preparing to come home and staying present here.
That I will continue to learn the lessons God still wants me to and trust Him to be my strength and wisdom for leaving the race, transitioning home and preparing for what comes next.
Pray for those on my squad some of whom are still figuring out what they are going to do next. We all have discovered and learned many things about God, ourselves and our faith and will be growing and processing through these things in the coming months and probably years.
Many people on my squad have experienced personal tragedy involving family and friends at some point over the course of these past 11 months and will be coming home to things that have changed in significant ways. Pray for this adjustment and that we will all be able and willing to have a smooth transition in all the other things we will have to reorient ourselves to once we are back.
Thank you for your continual support and prayer. Looking forward to seeing many of you next month.
