There are four days until Christmas
This year is so strange to me
I don't find myself wanting gifts under the tree
All of my family and friends I just want to hug
Because this year is different, don't get me a mug
I am leaving for a long while and I have no wear to pack it
Christmas is coming soon—in a mere four days
After that, I am leaving to go on the World Race!

I try to find presents for everyone I know
I thank Jesus a lot that I haven't had to see snow
Tomorrow will be my last day at home
Then I am going to be quite one who roams
From state to state and country to country
Life has never been so emotionally bumpy

Christmas is my favorite time of year
But my presents have been many rounds of tears
Saying goodbye to many a person
Leaving without an address to return to
The Unknown is my gift and fulfililng of my life's purpose
Loving new people and visiting new places
At least, I am pretty sure that is what the world race is.

I don't want to leave this United of States
Without telling those here how my heart breaks
For the hungry, poor, unloved, and abused
This Christmas may come with a very big bruise
They want to enjoy it and be able to show joy
Someone must show them the love of a manger boy
Who was born to die so we may be free
The hope of the World I hope they may see

So, with Four days to Christmas, I try to prepare
With people I love, time I will share
I celebrate Jesus and his wonderful birth
I still pray every day for peace, hope, and joy on Earth
After cities, countries, and an 11 month journey
I know there will be a great deal of learning
Four Days until Christmas, let's all sing a song
"Joy to the World"- Let's all sing along!
