No, I am not talking about Launch again… though that was
pretty cool. I am talking about my team
– Aletheia. We started off in the Philippines as
one of four team. We spent that month
with Hephzibah, Dunamis and Karis. With
twenty-eight people around all the time, it was hard to find time to get to
know just our team. That and the fact
that there were so many ministry options that we were scattered here there and
everywhere at all hours of the day!

Then we moved on to China where we spent the month with
two teams: Quake and Libre. In China, we were
in a hotel, and Summer (Libre Team Leader) and I were on the opposite end of
the hotel from the whole rest of my team. We were down to eighteen people around all the time; as in the Philippines, we
were all over the city in little groups, and really only together as a team for
morning prayer.

Last month in Kenya, it was just Aletheia and the
Transformers, and because the two teams were together all the time, we dubbed
the eleven of us the ‘Aleformers.’ There
were more occasions where we were on our own, and we really started to get to
know each other.

And then there is this month. Uganda. Aletheia is alone. No other teams to entertain us. No electricity to distract us. Just us. And it has been a great month. For obvious reasons, we’ve been together as a team nearly 24/7. During hut to hut visits, we’ve been split,
but we’ve always come back together for lunch and dinner. Almost every night we’ve come together and
hung out as a team, just debriefing the day. And we’ve had some really great hang-out time in general. Playing Yahtzee by the light of the hurricane
lantern, or one of our endless games of Rummy. Uganda
has been our best month, team wise, so far! We know we still have room for improvement, but we are making strides in
the right direction!
