I'd like to introduce you to someone I do life with every single day. Her name is Carmella Nicholson and her hair is as wild as her name. 24 years old and from Akron, Ohio, Carmella is a city-girl through and through. She is funky and fashionable but also one of the most soulful, passionate, prayer-warriors I have ever met. She takes the word of God seriously and can dish out some powerful truths in a heartbeat. When you need a dose of wisdom or a slice of advice, there is no-one who tells it like it is quite the way that she does.

Don't let her serious side fool you; Carmella is a hoot. She has this way of commanding a room and having us all in hysterics in under a minute flat. She tosses her head back when she laughs and doesn't stop until there are tears streaming down her face (usually this is in response to her own jokes). She is the first in line for fried chicken and the last to wake up in the mornings. She is an instigator, a jokester (she was one of the ringleaders behind the kidnapping of another team member's pooh bear) and is comically dramatic (did I mention she theatrically threw herself on the floor in front of forever21 in Bangkok?).

She is a creative writer. She is boisterous. She is playful. She is compassionate.

She is all the thing that make her Carmella.

But there's something else you should know about her too.

The end of this month marks a serious financial deadline for our squad. We each need to have $11,000 raised an in our accounts by October 1st or else we are sent home after only 4 months on the mission field. I have been outrageously blessed by all of you and have raised more than enough to pass this deadline without problems. Carm, however, is really struggling.

Right now she has $7,400 in her account, putting her $3,600 shy of her October deadline.

All I know is this: Team Salt and Light would not be the same without her. She adds character and spunk to our team. She makes us laugh. She is a vital part of our ministry. And more than anything, she is our sister.

She has fought so hard to be here. We cannot bear to see her go home.

Please help. Even just donating $5 shows Adventures in Missions that she is working hard towards her goal. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta GA, 30353-4470. Make sure to specify that you would like the donation to go to Carmella Nicholson or else your donation will not be sent to her account.
