Some of you are probably thinking that I should have introduced my team in the beginning of the race, but I feel now more than ever I am more equipped to tell you about the 6 killer, amazing, inspirational, god-fearing women, that I call not only friends but family.

First, there is Emily. Emily is probably one of the smartest people I know. Any question we ask sh either already knows the answer or will look it up so she can  learn more. Over the 7 months I have seen her grown in vulnerability and love, with the Lord but also with people. She walks tall with boldness and isn’t afraid to use her voice.

Jenay. Jenay only knows how to speak life. She is beyond creative, if she doesn’t have paint on her hands or drawings on her arms i have to ask if she’s ok. She is always always always looking out for other people, checking in, making us art listening prayers, and just making sure we are good. Jenay has grown so much in truth and embodies growth with the Lord.

Maddie. Every time I think of Maddie I think of the word Holy. Maddie is such a sweet heart, she is always thinking of other people and is so willing to be flexible. Maddie is our Cookie Monster, a sucker for some fresh cookie dough. Maddie has grown in such boldness over the past 7 months. Getting to see her walk in the authority she is given has been a beautiful process but also getting to see her question and discover the Lord has been really cool too.

Lise. Lise is the Lords mouth piece, she isn’t afraid to speak out what the Lord is telling her or puts on her heart. Lise is literally always down for a dance party, unless it’s the early morning. She is fun and outgoing. Over the 7 months Lise has had so much sweet revelations with the Lord, and she is intense and passionate woman, but it’s been a privilege to see her walk in the gentleness of the Lord too.

Megan. Oh sweet Megan always yelling at the top of her lungs from the top bunk. A wild Megan can be caught singing Mama Mia, quoting Harry Potter in some kind of British Accent, and clapping off beat. Megan is so fun. She also is not afraid to use her voice, and thank God because she is such a prophet for the Lord! Megan has grown so much in vulnerability and and deep love with her perfect father.

Nikki. Nikki is our other early riser with Jenay. She likes her time before the rest of us awake. You can always find Nikki reading her Bible at literally any time of the day, sometimes all day. She’s always up for the Katy Perry birthday song even when it’s not someone’s birthday, or she could get down to some Pretty Girl Rock. Nikki has also grown in so much boldness and just deep understand of the Lords character over these 7 months which was amazing to watch.

As a team you can count us to have dance parties, be making mug cakes, having spontaneous prayer times, and having our walls covered with art. We were a diverse team coming from all different states, having the oldest and youngest on our team, and really just coming from all different walks of life. I think that’s what made our team the beautiful mosaic we are. We could have chose out because of our differences but choosing unity and choosing the hard road was all my team wanted. We wanted to look like Christ.

I could honestly tell you so much more about these women because spending a non stop 7 months together, sharing a room and a bathroom and free time and ministry time together shows you soooo much about people. But the rest is their story to tell.

To team Anthem,

It has been my privilege to be apart of your team. At the beginning we may not have all liked each other, but over time we chose each other and the Lord has woven together a family out of us. It has been my privilege to know you and be known by you, to laugh, dance, cry, and eat cookie dough with you. I don’t think I could ever forget some of our prized moments together from sharing our stories, to anthem after hours antics.

Although it has been my privilege to do life with you the past 7 months, I realize life won’t look like that again. However, I am still excited to see what else the Lord has for you, to pray with you and for you, to talk with you until we fall asleep if you need it, and to make new memories and adventures together. We have grown tremendously over the 7 months in more ways then just the few I mentioned, but I’m excited to see the more the lord has for all of you and for me too.

Thank you for loving me even when it was hard, praying for me, motivating me, calling me higher, boulin with me, and choosing me.

I love you guys with my whole heart. And I hate to be this guy, but you guys are stuck with me for life.

Ok lovelies, until our next time over a fresh bowl of cookie dough and a good movie, love you!
