Here I am…

Hey Everyone! My name is Angela. You may call me one of the three; Ange, Angie or Angela, whatever rolls off your tongue the easiest, I respond to all 3! I am 24 years old and am currently living in Porter’s

Lake,
Nova Scotia ( If you don’t know where that is, it’s a peninsula off the east coast of

Canada). This is where I grew up, swimming in the
Atlantic, building tree forts, fishing, camping, bike riding, you name it. In my early 20’s I spent a few years in the flat, flat prairies of

Manitoba where I took a Child and Youth Care worker Program at

Red River
College. I absolutely LOVE kids. I am sure if you spend enough time around me, you’ll understand how important it is to play in the mud and sing silly songs all day!

I was raised in a Christian home along with my older sister (Jen). As a child I remember my mother encouraging me to pursue an active and personal relationship with Jesus. Yeah, Jesus and I, we go way back… hehe. My lifetime desire has been to be a missionary, traveling through out God’s creation bringing love and hope to everyone! This became my bedtime prayer as a 4 year old… 20 years later and He has given me the “go-ahead”!

I love being physically active, and my favorite past time is canoe trips through the great Canadian wilderness. In 2004 and ’05 I spent my summers as a canoe guide at a high adventure base for the Boy Scouts of America. God used this experience to stir up an incredible wonderment about who He really is. He stepped up our relationship to a new level that began to draw me into unimaginable places of intimacy with Him. He started pouring into my life like never before, and this launched me into my first mission trip to Hong Kong in 2006.

When I returned home from HK, I knew it would only be for a short time, my passion for missions was ignited! While looking up missions online, I came across The World Race and burst into tears immediately thinking, “Who has read my thoughts and acted upon my desires to make such a mission as this! THIS IS ME!” I began praying and surrendering it to God, believing He would make it clear what He wants me to do with this overwhelming desire. Over the period of a few months Jesus began speaking to my heart and in His perfect timing everything came together and before I knew it I was welcomed on the team!

I am forever thankful for what God has done for me and what He is about to do through everyone involved in the World Race!

Here’s to bringing forth the Kingdom of our Almighty God!

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who

are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord”
