Girl month went great! We had lots of hot showers and worked hard doing some manual labor in a little village called Mae Ai… read my last blog to learn more about the village.

Week 1: We spent a few days at WonGen Cafe in Thailand, where our amazing contact has opened a cafe to help give jobs to girls and allow mission teams to come help at while they minister to the people of Thailand! and we got HOT SHOWERS!!!! AMAZING! I almost forgot what a hot shower felt like. Shoot I almost forgot what a shower that didn't involve buckets felt like! It was such a refreshing couple of days where we got to explore the city, visit the red light district, and see how the coffee shop is being used to shine light in dark places and further Gods kingdom !

DAY 1 IN THE VILLAGE: Our Host mom, Me Li, barely lets us sit our stuff down before she pushes us off to a near by house where all the women in the village peel garlic for 8 hrs a day. This is one of the ways the locals support their families and I must commend them. It really was hard work to sit for hours and hand peel thousands of garlic cloves. Talk about blisters…..

Week 2:   That's me out there in the pink shirt!    Knee deep in water throwing mud up on the banks of the rice fields. We worked for 3 hours and were so tired we could hardly stand. The men in the village work 8 hours or more a day, year around, yet they only make profits from the fields a few months out of the year. This makes the rest of the year very hard for them to put food on the table and afford bills the rest of the year…. This is a BIG reason why they sell their children to traffickers.

Week 4: We dug up an entire field and made it dirt. Using just the hoes you see in the next pictures. All the dirt you see here used to be grass and all the grass you see we dug up and it is now dirt

FINAL WEEK IN THE VILLAGE: Last but not least we spent LOTS of time in pig poop. So here we are, a bunch of female missionaries standing in, shoveling, and spreading lots and lots of pig poop. How does pig poop further the kingdom of God you might ask.?. Wellll… you'll just have to read my next blog to find out =) hehe. The blog that has the word POOP.in the title.

Incase you decide you want to Fertilize the Thai way

Step 1: Scoop poop into bags by hand or shovel

Step 2: Pile the bags high and load them into a truck to take to the fields.

Step 3:  Wake up bright and early when it's freezing cold out, put on your winter clothes, and pile into a pick-up. We are on our way to the bean fields.

Step 3: Spread poop on each individual plant……by hand.     Pray that the beans grow.

Step 4: Take a break get a hot shower ……. and go ride an elephant!

After a long month in Mae Ai village we headed back to WonGen Cafe for a couple days of hot showers and saying our final goodbyes to all the friends we made at the begging of the month.
