Last week was a long but amazing week! My team traveled to Pasibul and stayed the entire week at the clinic. Turns out the world race isn't always warm.
Wishing I would have brought some warm clothes team alethea and team sweet aroma stayed in the patsibul mountains at the clinic for the last 4 days. Our ministry site is about an hour to an hour and a half from the hospital so staying at the clinic allowed us to have soooo much more time to build relationships in the community and help with much needed projects.
Our first stop was Manos de Jesus. Where we planted 100 trees on the mountain side to keep it from eroding and falling. Manos de Jesus has several ministries. One of those ministries is a feeding program for children. There are several feeding sites around Guatemala.
First, the children get fed spiritually with a short childrens church service where the children dance sing and learn about Jesus. After that all the children get a free meal. This was among my favorite places this week. It was heart breaking to see so many children hungry. Not only that but it was obvious that many did not have the means to bathe or money to afford shoes or clothes. some of the girls as young as 9 had to bring there baby brothers and sisters hung across their backs.
None-the-less they were still so joyful and full of life. In the picture is 5 year old Zelda. She had 2 sisters with her. She just couldn't keep her little eyes open.

The needs here are just so great it breaks my heart. I feel like I am being blessed so much more than these people and children that bring me so much joy everyday.
My next deadline will be soon and I still need $4,000 in order to stay on the race. Please consider donating. Tell your churches, your friends, your neighbors. What is being done here is all because of faithful sponsors who have given the funds for these missions.
