BEST DAYS OF THE RACE YET!!
NUMBER 1

While on our way to Bran Castle, (Dracula’s Castle) Becky (Our Amazing American contact in Romania) saw a lady on the side of the street trying to pulling her cart out of the ditch. Becky pulled over and the team together pulled the loaded cart out of the ditch. We asked her how far her house was so that we could help her the rest of the way. She pointed to a location that was a short distance from where we were. I thought oh we got this! Her house ended up being 3 km away, and part of the distance was up hill and down which made it AWESOME. Our new friend thought it would be fun to run with the cart. :/
Once we got to her gypsy village we were greeted by her family. There were 4 kids in the house and we happened to have a van full of clothes that we were able to leave with them! We prayed for her, and the family!
NUMBER 2
This one is pretty self explanatory. After putting on Sunday’s best fancy clothes we headed to the Ballet. Our contact (again Becky) blessed us with a trip to the ballet. It was at this beautifully ornate theater hall, with red plush leather seats. During the show there were several performances which kept us on our toes!
Number 3
In Moldova, Thursday November 3 for ministry we went to Nickoli’s house. We didn’t even know him and he greeted us with a bucket and a plate of forks! Inside the bucket was some of the best honey I’ve ever tasted! His generosity didn’t stop there. He took the plate that had the forks on it, went inside and brought it back full of pickles! To our surprise we were told to put the honey on the pickles! Well when in Moldova, you do as the Moldavians so we ate up! We all had a quarter of the pickle and stopped. Nope, that wasn’t sufficient we were told to eat! And eating was what he meant. He brought out apples, more pickles and then watermelon! While we were eating we got to chat with him about his life. We found out that he had been a bee keeper for the majority of his life. We asked if he had been stung a lot over his life, he said no because he wore special gear! He showed us his head mask! It was handed to me so I put it on! I felt it would make a good picture! Nope, that wasn’t it. He took me to the “bee hive” and then showed me the inside honey comb! After sharing that part of his life with us he showed us his house and then offered us fresh honeycomb!
DAY 4 – On The Way Home
Our first day of ministry in Nepal was AWESOME! It started with us going into some villages and praying for a few Christian families. We prayed for the family and then we’re put on the spot to share the word. I started the day in the word and felt that God wanted me to share what I had read with the village. So I did. It was awesome! After that we went to another house to eat snack and pray with the family. Well right about the time the team was getting done eating school was getting out. The children were super excited to see white people and proceeded to form a crowd around the house. After asking the contact if it was ok to sing to the children, we led all the children in the Lord’s Army. It was sooo fun!!
NUMBER 5
Our ministry for the day was to go to a school and teach English. Since I am American I am naturally an expert at teaching, of course. I eagerly waited for my turn to be escorted to my room, assuming that there would be a teacher graciously awaiting my arrival. To my surprise the school warden left me in the classroom with the instructions, “just teach English” and “teach small words.” HA HA. I was left in a room with about 20 kids with no lesson plan and not really a clue of what to do. So I asked them for their English book and a piece of chalk. There was a page with short phrases like “I go to school” so I started with that and used what I was taught to make it into a fun game, boys vs girls. Whoever could come to the front of the room and read the phrase and act it out won! There was only about 5-10 mins of teaching making it fun!
