I Put On Christ (The Battle is Raging) – Laura Hackett

For The battle is raging
The devil is raging

I don’t want to be sleeping
While the battle is raging
For my spirit is willing
But my flesh gets tempted
Rise up, my soul, and start praying
‘Cause I don’t want to be defenseless, yeah

I don’t fight as one who beats the air
Give me eyes to see and ears to hear

Chorus:
I put on Christ, make no provision for my flesh
Put on the whole armor of God
Leave no open door to darkness

And I take the scroll, I eat the scroll
I open up my mouth and speak forth Your word
And I take the sword of the Spirit

Blessed be the Lord my Rock
Who trains my hands for battle, who trains my hands for war

I’ll let nothing steal my passion for Jesus
I’ll let no one steal my passion for Jesus

Month 8 has begun and I find myself with a new team once again Minor changes. It's still Mac, Alana, Haile, Angie, Nikki, and I, but we lost Phil and picked up Paul Bell. Paul was on my very first team (lovebound.)

Team lovebound

Team REfresh

As we came into Nairobi we decided that we wanted a new name for our new team. At first the jokes flew around about becoming Team lovefresh or Team REbound because it was our first and second teams joined together, but we decided we wanted something more serious. I loved my first team's name, lovebound, I felt that it was strong and powerful. After all we are all bound to love. As for my second team, well while we thought the name was good  it was not my favorite at all. Yes we did refresh our contacts, but  we were drained of everything and not refreshed ourselves. Let's not forget  to mention that our name kind of became a joke on the squad thanks to a youtube clip of a commerical. This time we decided that we wanted to be all in for the last 4 months. We wanted a powerful name. One that when people heard it they knew where we stood. A name that would become prophetic for our last 4 months knowing that we are about to face some strong spiritual warefare. So I am pleased to announce that we are now Team Frontline.

I don't know what our team verse is, but it's good. I have been lookikng for it all morning, but I can't remember where it is. We decided to adopted Laura Hackett's song as our team song though. It fits so perfectly with how we want our next 4 months to look. Read the lyrics and listen to it please.

Pray for us. We know that the Lord has already brought the victory, but it doesnt slow the devil from trying everything he can. We suffered sickness, both Nikki and I currently have typhoid and 5 of our squadmates have malaria and another person has a kidney infection. This won't defeat us.

Below is the song "I Put On Christ" and below that is Laura Hackett explaining her inspiration for the song.
