Isn’t
it incredible how much our father loves us? I can never seem to wrap my mind
around it. He really has been romancing my soul. How so?
I
don’t run. I am not supposed to run unless I want to mess up my knee even more,
but last week I just felt like running. I put on some running gear, grabbed my
i-pod and sunglasses, and headed out the door. The run only lasted for a
half-mile because my body just isn’t used to it, but God definitely showed up.
As I ran down the road I couldn’t help but notice the purple chicory growing
along the road, the cattails dancing in the wind, the birds flying in the sky,
and the old oak tree that stands alone, but tall by the hay field. Even though
I had my music way up God still spoke to me saying “This is all for you.”. Could
he really have created this scene all for me? Yes he really could and he did!
I
don’t have the best relationship with my sister Abby. I love her immensely, but
I never know what to say around her because she always seems to be angry with
me. On Sunday night I went to downtown Grand Rapids with her for the Thunder
Country Jam, which was a big free concert with a few of our favorite country
singers. We met up with some
people from Geneva there too. We both had a good time. We got along, shared laughter, and I was
really glad God gave me the chance to spend a night with her showing her that I
really do love her. I was glad she was able to meet some of the people who have
really been a big part of my life for the last 3 months and she was able to see
how much we loved and genuinely cared for each other.
On Monday I had the opportunity to be a
paid extra in the movie Touchback being filmed on my high school campus. It was
a total God thing for a few reasons. Reason A) I love the arts and God knows this. I believe that
this was a reward of sorts for being faithful and trusting him. It was a long
day (14 hours), but it was so much fun. Reason B) I believe God used me to
encourage someone to go out and join the world race. I was talking with some
people about my trip and this guy was really interested. He kept bringing it up
and asking me questions about it. I get so excited when people really want to
do the race. He said he was really going to look into it. I love working for
Jesus!
Yesterday
I got to spend the entire day with my boyfriend’s sister and family. It’s a
pretty big deal to me. Since Joshua is currently in Afghanistan and I leave
before he returns home it was good to spend time with his family, sharing in
conversation, laughter, and joking around. I’m so thankful that God gave me the
chance to get to know them more. I know that being in a relationship while
being on the race will be difficult, but it’s all in God’s hands and I feel
that this was God’s way of saying to me,
“I know that you are scared to give this to me, but I am thankful that
you trust me and that you have given your relationship to me to take care of. I
won’t hurt you and since you have done this for me I will bless it because I love you.
Honestly,
I cannot wait to see how he romances me on the race if he has already done all
of this for me in the past few days! I am so incredibly loved by the God of the
universe and I am glad to call him Papa.
