I’m all packed up. My life fits into 2 rubbermaid boxes, a school backpack, and a few bags. Thats down from last year, but I laughed as I packed it all up because I have no idea how my life is supposed to fit into one hiking backpack and my school backpack for 11 months. Working at camp is only 3 months and I still have way more than I can bring with me on the race. I’ll figure something out.
I’m so excited for another summer working as a day camp counselor at Geneva! Our theme this year is Epic and the theme verse is “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has
conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9. Our God is Epic in every sense. This summer will be filled with old and new friendships, all camp games, worship, arts and crafts, laughter and tears, and the desire to come to know God on a more personal level. You go into camp thinking I can’t wait to change these kid’s lives, but in reality you are changed through the process. These kids ask you questions that you have never thought of. They teach you in the process of you teaching them. You are a role model to these kids showing them a love that can only come through you by being open to our father in heaven and accepting his love.
There a a few things that worry me about being at camp this summer. The main one is that while at camp I will have no time to host or set up fundraisers to raise money for the World Race. I am almost at $1000, which I need by June 10, but I still have a lot to come up with. It is my prayer that God will speak to you and you feel compelled to donate or make monthly pledges to help go on the race. Another thing is that I really won’t have phone or internet access except for the weekends. If you need to reach me there are a few ways. What’s the fastest way to get a message to me? Camp Geneva has a link on
their website called ’email a counselor’ This is what you do:
1. Go to www.campgeneva.org
2. On the main page, click on the ’email a counselor’ link*
3. There you will have to give your name and email as well as my name:
Angela Grit
4. The emails are printed off for us and given to us at dinner.
5. If you send it before 3pm that day, I will get the message that day
at dinner. Otherwise, I will get it the following evening.
**Just so you know, the ’email a counselor’ link will begin June 14 and
be up the rest of the summer.**
You can also contact me through snail mail! Just send letters or
packages to:

Writing a blog every week may be difficult, but I promise I will try my best. In the mean time I pray that God shows you how Epic he truly is. Thanks for your prayers and support!!!
