This month has been awesome and completely exhausting. I am thoroughly looking forward to our first day off on Monday and will probably be able to sleep the entire day!

Here are some highlights thus far:

Panama is surprisingly beautiful. I never dreamed of visiting here but I’m so blessed to have the opportunity to explore this country. As a HUGE bonus, my head doesn’t hurt all the time trying to figure out currency conversions since they use the US dollar.

We’ve spent time in four cities in addition to the one we are based in. We’ve logged in a lot of travel hours (not my favorite) but the scenery is worth every minute. Even if my leg does fall asleep being crammed in a tiny taxi with four people in the back.

In Boquete, Ginger and I got a tour of the coffee plants that are grown on the church property. It was fantastic. I especially enjoyed making snow angels in the drying beans and gazing up at the stars.

Chelsea, Ginger, Angela and I shared many laughs and riveting conversation while decorating and stuffing bags for the indigenous boys and girls who would otherwise not have a Christmas.

David, Panama is H-O-T and humid. I had flashbacks to Dream Home marketing while handing out tracts in the city center.

We got to make Santa Claus and snowmen piñatas. I’m actually quite skilled in cutting out the cardboard shapes with a knife.

We had an amazing welcome dinner in David. We started off with a refreshing salad adorned with pineapple, homemade ravioli, amazing crab soup and chocolate cheesecake bites for dessert. Delicious and a welcomed alternative to rice and beans!

I quite enjoy pretending that I have long purple hair. I actually bought the wig and will be wearing it for New Year’s Eve in the LAX airport. I am pumped.

This was our first month as a team to perform Christian dramas. Our practices were hilarious and a tad frustrating at times but the end result was so much fun and a great conversation starter for those who stopped to watch.

God has been doing some awesome things in this country and in our group and I’m looking forward to what the rest of this month holds.
