It is absolutely amazing how God knows exactly what you need. He has perfect timing for everything. The other day my team got the opportunity to teach in a primary (elementary) school here in Thailand. The past few years I have felt a calling on my life towards missions, I thought teaching would be an awesome way to get into a country. As a few years have passed I have become more and more unsure if that is what God really has planned. The thoughts of “maybe that was my thinking” or “maybe I miss heard God” or “I will never make a good teacher” came up, and were very discouraging.
We went to the school thinking we would be in pairs ( 2 Americans working together). When we got there that was not the case. They asked us to each go into a class so we were teaching K-6th. I got into my class room with the 6th graders, stood in front of the class thinking that the teacher would say a few things. The kids all settled in, the teacher motioned me to teach and without saying anything left. There I stood with 18 students waiting for me to teach them. I asked if anyone knew any English and all I got was blank stares.
All I could think in that Moment was “God please give me the words to say because I got nothing.” In that moment it just started to flow. I taught for 3 hours, It seemed like 20 minuets. By the end of the day I was so tired but I knew in my heart that I could handle doing that for the rest of my life. I am so thankful for the opportunity to be reminded that God knows what He is doing and that I can do all things through Him.
