Another month gone by?

It’s all going by so fast!

It’s been a month and a good one at that. I’m here to give you some info and an update!

First off, my squad is going to PANAMA! We still don’t have many details of where exactly in panama we’ll be or what we’ll be doing but I’ve trusted God this far and I’m not planning on stopping!

Second, my team will be looking a little different. Right now my team consists of me and 3 other girls (Callie, Hannah, and Lindsey) and our 2 leaders (Michael and Steadman). Michael will be heading back to the states and Steadman will be joining a different team and becoming a regular ol’ racer like us. As for me and the girls, we have no idea what our teams will be or if we will be together. We got to choose 3 people we want to learn from and 3 people we think we could pour into and grow with on our squad. We’ll know our teams at our next debrief at the beginning of April. Good stuff but also sad to be saying some goodbyes:(

So wow. Enough with the future. Let me talk about what’s already happened! My squad had our first debrief which is where we all meet and debrief the month or 2 months since we’ve last seen each other. We spent it at a hostle in Jaco, Costa Rica. We swam, we surfed, and we got to catch up with each other. And we also got to evangelize. There was something heavy about this place. God was really breaking our hearts for what breaks His. He was showing us the hurt of people and how lost they are. My squad, although it was a time for us to relax and refill, didn’t miss the opportunity to talk to people and spread the joy of the Lord. That’s how the Lord calls us to be; interruptible in times we think we aren’t called to be interrupted. He calls the church to listen to His voice and show people His love ALWAYS. His love never stops chasing us. His love never stops. It’s kind of crazy that He continues to chase us and love us even when we turn away from Him or want nothing to do with Him. It also blows my mind that He has total control yet gives us the right to choose whether or not we want to live for Him. Why wouldn’t we want to? He knows just what we need.

After debrief, my team hopped on a ferry and got shipped to Nicoya Peninsula. We had no idea what was there for us if anything at all. We thought there’d be nothing. But we soon realized that there are people passionate and hungry for the Lord. We’ve been staying at a small church. There’s no wifi or service but there are monkeys, parrots, soccer fields, beaches, good views, and beautiful people. The first few days we were staying here we would have to wake up at 3:30 am for an hour of prayer (just an example of one of the ways of how passionate these people are for the Lord). The pastor and the church are so dedicated to the lord and so passionate about prayer. They usually have a service every day dedicated to prayer. Some times we would even hike to the top of a mountain to pray!!

A lot of our time here has consisted of manual labor and church services. We sing at each service and occasionally one of us will bring the word. The Lord is teaching us some beautiful things and I’ve fallen in love with life with Him. Pursuing Him is so important. God is love. Romans 12 is really a great chapter that I encourage you to read. What I’ve been learning is that loving and pursuing the Lord is reasonable. In Isaiah it talks about donkey and ox. They know their master. They follow and depend on their master because it’s natural and smart. But God’s own people do not know Him or follow Him. Let me tell you something ; God as our leader/master is reasonable. It is the best way to live. It is smart. I read a quote that goes like this, “What madness it is to reject and resist a God of infinite wisdom, infinite love, infinite grace, and infinite power! True reason will drive any honest man to the most humble adoration and submission towards God.”

I pray that you understand how much the Lord loves you and what a life you would live if you had Him-the Lord of Hosts, King of Kings, Creator and Author of Life- as your leader and shepherd!

!!Prayer requests!!

Thank you all for praying for my team and I. Something that we need prayer for is peace because of the upcoming changes. We’re all a little sad to be leaving each other possibly. Also for safe travels for the people traveling back home and for us who are traveling to panama.
Let me know how I can be praying for you!
