It’s crazy how things come full circle! I wrote this blog tonight and realized by the end of writing it that it sounded awfully familiar…Turns out back in February I wrote part 1 of this story without even realizing it. Jesus does something so beautiful with our lives if we let Him. If you want to read part 1 before you read this blog feel free. I’m hoping your mind will be blown like mine just was!

Have you ever felt sad?
Like the kind that suffocates you?
The kind that makes life really hard?
The kind that swallows you up?

Turns out no matter where you are in the world emotions are emotions and they find their way to you, even when you hide. They are smart and cunning and take you as a prisoner. They refuse to let you go without some kind of payment.

So you let it take part of you without fighting. You think you’re too weak to fight.
Lie.
You reach into your chest, crack open the walls of your heart, rip a piece out and cry.
You stand in front of him, looking him straight in the eyes and you drop it into his hands.
It smiles. Laughs even. Thinking that’s it’s won.
Lie.
He turns, leaves the room and doesn’t look back. He leaves the door open and you see he shows his friends as if it was a game and he’s “showing off” his trophy.

And you, you sit there on the floor crying, cradling back and forth wishing for it to all just stop.
You don’t look up.
Truth is you can’t. Truth is you don’t want to.
You feel defeated. All you want is to remain little, unnoticed, untouched, forgotten. You tell yourself it’s better this way.
Lie.

But you hear Him.
He says your name.
And He comes, bends down, takes you and just holds you,

simply, kindly, gently holds you.

He whispers you are His and He has paid the price for you.
He reaches into His pocket and takes out something familiar, your heart.
He hands you what was taken and sews it back into your fragile little heart making it whole again.
Truth.

As you hug Him you cry because you knew, you knew, He would come for you. He would come and rescue you.
Truth.
Rescue you from the sadness that tried to engulf you, that tried to take you and destroy you. It tried to swallow you up whole but what you didn’t know was that He had already been there taking care of it.
That’s why it couldn’t take all of you because it had no authority.
Truth.
You were already bought, he knew that but that didn’t stop the enemy from trying.
Truth.
But Jesus came like He does, like He always will, and saves you.
Truth. Truth. Truth.

You are whole again.
No longer fragile.
No longer afraid.
You. Are. Whole. Again.
