EXCITING NEWS! I AM 34% FUNDED!
I never thought I would say that but here I am declaring that the Lord brought in $4,502 JUST IN SEPTEMBER ALONE. That is CRAZY!
For the past few weeks I have been silent about fundraising and have been wrapping my brain around the fact that I made it to $5,000 before my first deadline. Not just made it to $5,000 but $5,802 to be exact. Over what I needed to make the first deadline. I have been sitting in awe of what God did for me… That’s insane!!
As I have been processing and praying on what my next step in fundraising is and what it looks like. I knew I wanted people to be a part of this journey just as much as I am. I want those who give to not just give their money but that they join me on this journey. I thought, “how can I do this? How do people support and join in on the fun?”
That’s when, Jesus and all of His great ideas, gave me this:
Camp Out: Experience the World Race
One night where 11 people(11 months, 11 countries, it’s a trend) leave their comfort zone, pack a backpack, turn off technology, and go camping together.
We will be camping on the lake in Austin where we will sleep in tents, eat camp fire food, enjoy each other’s company, and spend time with Jesus out in nature.
The best way to see a glimpse into the World Race is to be a part of it. Since I will be living out of 2 backpacks for a year and sleeping most of the time in a tent I want you guys to be able to experience what this will be like; to see where your support is exactly going.
My vision for this night is to create 3 things:
1. Community
This group of 11 people will be random but my hope is that through this one night, enjoying the purest and simplest form of community, people will see how relationships are built on the World Race. And from that go and enhance their own community groups.
2. Solitude (but the good kind!)
Having people experience one night away from all distractions, shutting out the noise from their tough week or rough month will allow them to embrace Jesus in nature. My hope is that this time be beneficial for their hearts and minds.
3. Fun
To me there is nothing greater or more fun than spending a night around a camp fire with friends. It’s peaceful and there is no pressure to be anything but yourself. I hope this forms in this one evening.

*Since this is a fundraiser and part of the purpose is to raise support for my trip, there is a $20 camper experience fee. All food and drinks will be taken care of. All you need is a backpack, clothes, and a killer attitude! *
