More Info on The Trip
We are leaving the first week of October. We will have some more training Guatemala and then we will be going into the Mission Field.
I don’t know what the Lord has in store for my team but I will tell you about one of my best friends, who went last year and a few of the thing she did. About a month before she left there was a huge earth quake in Peru so that changed her team’s route, so they could go there first and see what need they could meet there. Upon arrival they found that a lot of the aid money that was being sent down there from all over the world wasn’t getting to the people that needed it. So they started blogging and making You Tube videos to get the word out that the government down there wasn’t doing their job. They built new bathrooms for people that were living in houses made of tarps. They helped people get new tarps to replace the ones that had worn through. They played with the children and taught them about Jesus. Then, in Asia the women on the team went to red light districts and talked to the girls there and helped them get plugged into local ministries that teach the young women real skills that they can use to make a living. As I watched my friend go to these places and help these people I couldn’t help but think that this was for me. I also watched as she learned who she really is in Christ. When she came home she was a whole new woman. She knew who she was and where she stood and she is continuing to seek the Lord further at a leadership training school in Spain. The confidence she gained will forever change her life and the lives of everyone she is around. And again I couldn’t help but think how I wanted to be a part of this. How I want to not only become more of the man that God made me to be, but also to help my team grow into the same.
Our proposed route is Guatemala, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Romania, Ukraine and another country in Eastern Europe yet to be decided. Our route has already changed once and could easily change again. And this is another thing that I love about our World Race leadership, they leave room for the Lord to change our plans to His so that we can be the most effective missionaries that we can be, going to the places that He calls us to, not just to where we think we should go. And this goes for the way they plan everything. Make a plan so that we can be efficient but leave room for the plan to change if the Lord has something different in mind.
