We made it to Costa Rica! And in one piece too! I’m so blessed to be here and to be doing the Lords work among the people of this beautiful country. We’ve been here for roughly 9 days now and already I can see God moving in amazing ways through my teammates and me. It’s been a bit of a struggle trying to make a blog post due to the fact that we have to walk about a mile to the nearest McDonald’s to get any decent wifi. But I’ve got the time now, so I thought I would update you all on where we’re at, how it’s goin, and where we go from here. I will make blog posts soon that go into more detail on our travel here, our ministry, team bonding, and more.
First of all, I thought I should show you where we’re staying! Let me just say, we are so blessed! We have a beautiful home in a very safe neighborhood with running water, comfortable beds, and a KILLER view. Click this link to see all my photos thus far. Click this!
This place has so surpassed all of our expectations and it is so nice to come home to such a lovely, safe, and cared for facility after a long day of ministry. It’s truly become my home. And without a question, the wonderful people who help take care of us and the house are a big part of what makes this place so great. Our squad leaders, squad mentor, and Xinia (our fearless cook) are all family. It is a Godly environment that provides a place for us to be in community with each other and with God.
Update on fundraising: I’M ALMOST COMPLETELY FUNDED!!! What a blessing it has been to get contributions and support from so many friends and family! I can’t even put into words how thankful I am for you investing in this mission (but I can try). And I owe it to you to keep you updated on how God is moving here. Know that YOU are a part of the good work we will be impacting here. For some time, I was worried about how this mission would be paid for, but God completely put my worries to rest, through you! know that God has answered my prayers through you and that your support really does make a difference. On a more logistical note, Once I am fully funded, all proceeding donations will go to Adventures In Missions and not to me or anyone else on my squad. If you feel lead to donate any further, there a many other members of my squad who could use some extra support. You can find links to my squad mates’ blogs over on the left side of the page. And as always, I hope my squad and I will be in your thoughts and prayers as you are in mine.
God bless, and stay tuned for more updates and stories of my adventures on the World Race.
Sincerely,
Andrew
