Swaziland. A land full of beauty. This past month we were at a property called El Shaddai.
Charmain, the director of the orphanage had a vision. God told her to start an orphanage on a certain mountaintop. Being obedient to the calling that was at hand, she went into the western part of swaziland and started her journey. Day by day, travel by travel, upward she went and she would look around and ask, “God, is this the spot?” No he told her, keep going. She did and at last she found the spot to where He wanted His orphanage at.
Why? Why would someone start something that they might have no idea where to begin?
Because, the Lord has different plans and ideas than our earthly mindsets can fathom.
As anyone who walks in the obedience of what God wants, she listened and obeyed and started this orphange 13 years ago. Til this day it is still running.
What was her motive?
God!
Also the fact that Swaziland is a dying country.
Yes. Literally dying. There is an epidemic that is sweeping the nation.
By the year 2050, it is possible that the whole nation will no longer exist.
How?
Because of HIV/AIDS. Every 1 in 2 people are diagnosed with it.
To save a nation from this agony, we (through Jesus Christ) can be the Hope that they are longing for.
What is her goal?
To see the kids she takes in, have a decent education and change the nation for the better.
It would be easy for people to come in and adopt these kids and put them under their wing, but if we want to see a nation change and to see it become a God-fearing country, we need to start empowering this upcoming generation.
To have them see and believe that they do carry the power to change the injustice in front of them.
1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
It’s time we start letting the youth of the nations become of importance. They carry a simple understanding than ours and we have something to learn from them, just as they do us.
Let’s see a nation be changed and not fall into the death being spoken over them.
What can you do to help?
Prayer/Intercede. One of the most important factors in us being obedient to God’s will. We can stand in the gap and fight for this nation just through our prayers.
Finances. You can sponsor one of these kids directly. Going to the website www.james127.org Monthly preferably or even one time. There are 65 kids ranging from newborn to 15 years old. Each need help with constant care, such as everyday needs. Clothing, food, hygiene products and schooling materials.
When there is a need, will we fill it or look past it?
It’s time that (we) the church, start to become the church that God originally had planned for us. To care for the needs of one another when it presents itself.
James 1:27- ” Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”
