*Note* The details in the video are a couple days old.

Hey everyone! The time is almost here! I fly to Atlanta tomorrow afternoon from Montana to launch on the World Race! I just wanted to let y’all know some quick details for the next year.

I will not be on any social media of any kind until mid-november. With that being said, you can still contact me via this blog and while there might be a delay I will do my best to keep you up to date with prayer requests, praises, and stories on a weekly basis for the next year.

My phone number will also no longer work starting tomorrow OCT 1st, since I am not paying for a plan, due to the high cost for a whole year. You can contact me via this blog however!

How do I contact you via the blog? Simple, in the top left corner of the page click on, “contact.” Send any message from there.

Ministry:

My first ministry location will be Battambang, Cambodia with my team of 5 other people!

The ministry host is called Lighthouse Battambang, and I get the privilege to serve with this ministry for October and aid them in fulfilling their vision/ mission:

Vision

Lighthouse is a community where Cambodian youth can find a dream and hope for their lives and implement those dreams through support from one another, and our team.

Mission

We provide a network of support and a secure living area for each of our students selected from the poor, rural areas here in Cambodia; with available mentors to help each student develop both social competence and the individual dreams and desires of each student.

If you would like to learn more about this ministry check out their website: http://www.lighthousebattambang.com/en/projekte/

Fundraising:

So far God has provided $12,432 of $16,561! I am so overwhelmed with gratefulness from all the support, it is another testament that,

“God’s work done in God’s way will never lack God’s supply.” -James Hudson Taylor

Some of you may be wondering, ‘If you have not raised all your funds can you leave in two days?!”

The answer is YES! However, in order to stay on the race for the last 7 months I need to be fully funded by January. Below are the fundraising deadlines required to stay on the race.

$13,000 – Due 11/30/2016 (Fundraising Goal 3) < almost there!

$16,561 – Due 1/31/2017 (Final Fundraising Goal)

I can hardly believe Saturday I fly to Atlanta, and then on the 5th we on to Cambodia! I have been so blessed to spend my last few weeks in the states with family, yet the time is almost here!

There is so much to do in such a short time but as I start to panic thinking, “how could I possibly get all that done?!” Then I am reminded of why I must make this journey, to grow closer to Christ, and in growing closer to Him, ministering to others. My close friend and brother, Charles, reminded me of this nugget of truth that I am putting my focus on:

Ministry does not replace intimacy

I have realized that now, more than ever, I must focus on being close to God more than anything else. It is only then that I can truly minister to others and share God’s love. Without knowing the Father’s heart, I have nothing to offer.

I am nothing but an earthen vessel, covered in holes and in constant need of filling. So please, keep me in prayer to draw closer to the heart of God. To not be so concerned with lengthy to-do lists or what I might forget to do or pack. Rather that I understand that life is going to be uncomfortable and unexpected no matter how much I try and prepare.

To all my friends and family who read this blog, I love you all. God has used you in such a powerful way to support me financially and in prayer. I am using this blog to bring you on this journey of faith and dependence with me…

Let the journey begin!
