People like boxes. Straight, stackable, boxes that make it easy to compartmentalize things. We use boxes frequently and for all sorts of different things, including thoughts, events, and even God. This past week I went through the World Race Training Camp, and it rocked my world. A million and one things could be said about training camp, but I’ll try to stick to just the one. God does not fit in a box!

It’s hard to describe training camp, but we basically spent the entire week pressing into God seeking a deeper relationship and renewing vision(if not getting it for the first time). And not too surprisingly, when you press into God seeking renewed vision, He’ll give it to you. I had put God in a box. He was a prisoner to my understandings, expectations, and fears. My Jesus was small, fragile and quiet and the Holy Spirit was banished to the outskirts, where He was free to do basically nothing.

Then training camp rocked my world!

God showed himself in such remarkable ways that I am left with no remarks. Love and assurance poured out in a way that was overwhelming. God spoke. His presence was overpowering, His peace passed all understanding. His redemption was never sweeter, and He started a process of smashing the boxes that I used to hold Him back and bound up His love and power.

I was always skeptical of divine healing, but witnessing it for yourself has a funny way of silencing doubts. Two women with celiac disease were able to eat comfortably and not get sick at all. A guy was healed of a crazy allergic reaction to something- huge, itchy bumps vanished when he woke up. Numerous people were healed from back issues. And Jacob from G Squad, who had been wearing hearing aids since first grade, was able to take them out and hear for the first time after being prayed over. These things may seem hard to believe, but if they do I have a question for you. How big, or small, is your God?

Any doubts I had about the race up to this point have been demolished. We serve an almighty God who shatters expectations. We serve an almighty God who put the stars in place. We serve an almighty and glorious God who holds all things in the palm of His hand.  And it’s THAT God who wants to look you in the face and tell you how boundless His love for you is and do a mighty work through you.

I put God in a box, and I contend that you may have done the same thing. So now I am asking you to let God shatter those boxes.

Give Him the freedom to reveal who he truly is!

Let Jesus show you just how boundless His love for you is and I promise nothing will ever be the same.
