Well this will be my last post from Mexico. We have had the great honor of spending the last week in Jerusalen, Mexico. We have been staying with Samuel and Fransisco and helping out with Fransisco´s church. He is only 24 which is the same age as most of our team. That has been really neat to be able to encourage him. He has had his church here for a little over two months and has a couple families attending.
We also met a man here that speaks english his name is Franklin and he is a pastor for the area. It has been great getting to practice my spanish with him and he practices his English. I have been getting a lot of information from him about the area and the needs here. It is so interesting to me to understand the culture here.
Yesterday Samuel and Fransisco took us up to a spring to swim and enjoy the beautiful mountains of Mexico. It still continues to amaze me at how beautiful it is here. We then stopped at a restaraunt and somehow Samuel got us a free lunch, we are still trying to figure that one out. We had Goat, which was exceptionally good. I had to keep it a secret from some of our team members until after we ate, but we all really liked it. After that we went to visit two of the other teams who were having their final fiesta with their community. It was a great time of seeing all of them and what they have been working on.
We are having our team debrief tommorrow and Saturday and then we are racing to somewhere in Guatemala. Check back soon for details on the race and our new ministry in Guatemala. Our team is really excited about it. Amanda lived in Guatemala for about 8 months last year and so knows alot of the people there and different ministries. My two beautiful sisters are from there also and I went along to get the oldest when I was 10. It will be neat to go back after all these years and be able to minister there.
Keep us in your prayers as we travel.
