Dear Family and Friends,
I hope this letter finds you well! I’m writing this letter to share with you what’s going on in my life, and the direction I’m headed in. About 9 months ago I was searching for an opportunity to serve and God broke my heart when I came across The World Race. Now 9 months later I am signed up and getting ready to gain support from all my Family and Friends, but before we go any further, please take a long look at this letter and value you its worth.
As of January 2012, I will leave to serve as a missionary through an organization, Adventures in Missions (www.adventures.org), in their program called The World Race. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries in which my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities. The countries I will be traveling to: Philippines, China, India, Nepal, Swaziland, Mozambique, South Africa, Moldova, Romania, Haiti, and Dominican Republic. While in each country we will work to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we come in contact with many different people. Myself and a team of about 50 others will be subdivided into smaller groups of about 6-7, to serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities in a variety of outreaches. Some of the things we will be doing are: serve at orphanages and refugee camps, preach the Gospel, education ministry, orphan care, go to care point feedings (where children walk miles to receive their meals), teach English, run sports camps, help with relief efforts, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to the many tribes and nations. As you can see, this is a pretty unique opportunity. Just to think how God has led me to this point and about all the things He has done is mind blowing! You're probably asking, well what do you want from me? I need your SUPPORT!
None of this will be possible without YOU!
As far as support goes, you can help support me in at least 3 ways:
1. First and most importantly you can Pray!
Pray for my finances that Father would supply them quickly so that I don't have to worry about it while on the mission field, and also so that I can focus on finishing my school by December.
You can also begin praying that Daddy would prepare me mentally, physically, and spiritually
Now-January, throughout the race, and when I arrive back.
Other Prayer Needs for My Squad and I:
– Travel, health, safety
– Strength & endurance to finish out the Race strong
– Patience, flexibility & understanding with others & especially each other
– Wisdom & discernment
– Self-discipline
– Fruitful ministry
– Boldness & courage
– Financial Support
Also, when you pray, Ephesians 6: 19 “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”
2. Tell other people. Word of Mouth will be one of the biggest ways you can help share my story and what Father is about to do. I would love to have as much prayer support as possible as we do ministry and travel everywhere.
3. Lastly you can support me FINANCIALLY. If you feel like Father is leading you to support me financially, please pray about it first! Ask Him what exactly He would have you do. If you feel as though He has given you the green light after praying, then PLEASE GIVE!!! 🙂
Every single dollar and penny will add up, so please do this accordingly in obedience. A verse I borrowed from another Racer:
2 Corinthians 9:7 – "Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
