Hello, and I’m really sorry about the delay of me posting. Unfortunately I have no control over this matter. We are extremely busy with ministry or busy in general that I don’t have time to go to the Internet, and when I do have time to go, it doesn’t work or I don’t have time to sit and do anything productive because of our busy schedule. Also it’s terribly slow and I have to walk to a hotel which is in walking distance but not typically a walk that I want to take after ministry becaus we usually get back and it’s time to cook dinner and not time for anything else. So Internet time is a negative and is like a rare precious jewel when I can actually use it.

Just touching base, things are going great. We have several ministries that we work with which usually consists of: Mondays and Tuesdays a thirty minute walk to Mojados where we do ministry with the Doiminican Rising Students (a ministry that our contact Miguel and his wife Kristine disciple people in their 20’s to send them out into their own communities to share the Gospel) by building relationships with the people there, and eventually share the Gospel after those relationships are built, Wednesday usually consists of farm work or preparing coffee beans by shelling it, roasting it, and then packaging it for sale to raise money for the Dominican Uprising Students and their mission trips to Peru and wherever else Miguel sends them to have a better idea of what ministry looks like.

I must say that this has been a challenging month though. The cultural can be very difficult to handle sometimes in a sense that the men are constantly hissing at our girls since we walk every where (which makes me want to smack someone in the face, but that isn’t exactly what Christ had in mind), ministry can be extremely draining at the end of the day because of either the physical labor, or just because of the lack of sleep between the days, but God always shows Himself faithful at the end of the day!

Then on Thursdays and Sundays we take an hour long drive to Cativo which is a village in the mountains. On Thursdays we do relationship building, and then on Sundays we have church at a couples house in which we invite everyone in the area to come for worship, bible study, and prayer to try and help them build their relationships with Christ, or to come to know Him as their Savior.

Then Friday and Saturday we usually have down time to wash our clothes or do the things we need to which never happens because there’s always something to do. But yeah, that basically consists of our week. We actually went to Cativo to spend more time with the people there. The girls went door to door, but Miguel, J.C., and I all went to the more secluded villages higher into the mountains. When I say went, I mean RAN!!! Miguel is a scrappy fellow from Nebraska and he has a huge desire for adventure. So what should’ve taken an hour and ten minutes to walk through the mountains turned into a 40 minute run up and down, and all around the mountains. That’s just a whole story in itself!!! Then Miguel decided he wanted to make it back down the mountain in 30 minutes in which it’s not exactly straight down the mountain but through rivers, up and down rocky terrain, and climbing both up and down steep hills, both “up and down” the mountains. Needless to say, we made it exactly in 30 minutes, but we were dog tired by the end of it all. Miguel is crazy nonetheless.

Besides all of that, Saturday we will transition to Haiti. There we will partner with “One Hope Ministries.” I’m not sure what we’ll be doing doing there, but I do know that we will be camping In our tents on the beach there the whole month.

Some of the things that you can pray for is our health. One girl had to leave this past week because she had a large cyst on her intestine, and some people have had stomache problems. Also you can pray for: strength, boldness to preach God’s worth, continual team growth and individual spiritual growth, safe travels (Haiti will be an extremely long trip), and whatever God leads.

Also my email address isn’t working, so please use this one: [email protected]
Davy, if you could pass that on to your wife that would be great! Hope everyone is doing well, and I’ll post again as soon as possible. Love you and God bless you all in your daily lives!

In Him, Andrew
