As a way to jump start our blogging, we were given a few topics to write about. Here is one of them.
I guess one of my expectations for The WR is to be completely ruined. I don't want to leave and return the same person. My life is not my own, but everyday I live like it is. I have to constantly remind myself that this world is not my home! This life is completely temporary and nothing else will matter when we die. All of the achievements I accomplish, the money I make, the clothes I wear…none of it matters! I will receive no crown for any of those things. What matters is how I live my life now. James 1:12 says,"Blessed is the man who perserveres under trial for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which God promises to those who love Him."
That's what I want for my life. I long to be face to face with my Creator, APPROVED, and to receive the blessings He's promised to me! I want to be a vessel and a light unto the world!
In Matthew 5 (Message Version) Jesus says,"Here's another way to put it: You're here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We're going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don't think I'm going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I'm putting you on a light stand. Now that I've put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you'll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven."
I want to be that light! I want to love all the people I come in contact with whole heartedly. I can't wait to meet all the people and see all the children at the orphanages. I want to share the love of Christ and the testimony of everything He's done in my life.
Some more expectations are:
-To see God in a more deeper and intimate way than I ever have before
– Meet amazing new people
-Build new relationships and friendships
-Complications from satan
-Live like I never have before
-Homesick
-Sicknesses
-Have the time of my life
-And experience Adventure
Lastly on my list of expectations is to expect the unexpected. There are going to be things that I could never expect and that's where people at home come in. There are going to be times when all of these things are going to be so overwhelming that only your prayers and words of encouragement, along with God's strength will get me through each day. So I just ask that you please pray for myself and my team continuously as we come in contact with people and step into the world of the unknown where Jesus is, and walk with me as I run this Race that Daddy has called me to partake in.
Once again thanks for reading my blog and following me! I appreciate all the support you've given me now, and the support to come!
Thank you so so much! Sincerely, Andrew Holloway
