So, for your greatest relief I’m sure, we are alive and in Moldova!!! Because of where we live, we don’t have Internet access so we are sitting in our contacts house. His name Andrei, Andrew, and his wife’s name is Larisa and they have two boys Eric and Marius. Eric is five years and ten months, and Marius is one year and ten months old. Here in their town, Andrei is a History Teacher and a preacher at his church (prayer house), and Larisa takes care of her family and does everything a normal Moldovan wife does…mother/house wife and all other household duties and she’s an excellent cook!
When we’re not in the presence of this wonderful family, we are usually at our home location, The Rehab Center that Andrei bought and opened for those in need of rehabilitation. Currently they’re closed, but they will reopen within the next year. So because of its closing, we have a place to stay!!!
I will post pictures and a video as soon as we have Internet again and when I actually have my computer!
Besides that, we’ve had a great first week! We don’t have showers, so we take a “Russian Bath” every Friday!! What is a Russian Bath you ask? Let me try to explain as easy as possible! We sit in a hot sauna five times total while in between each hot session, we go and dip our complete bodies in a freezing cold river!!! Yes, that’s right. Hot sauna, Freezing COLD river, but by repeating the process 5 times. You can choose when to bathe, but usually you might wait for the 4th time to bathe. Andrei told us that they usually take people to do a Russian Bathe in order for them to repent. It’s so hot in the sauna that anything hotter could be compared to hell!
Because we have no shower, you probably guessed that we don’t have toilets! REALLY?!?!? You ask? “YES,” I reply! It’s an out house/ squatty potty! Love it! We go there rain or shine, day or night and trust me, it makes things quite interesting!
Then you probably guessed that we have a small kitchen with a gas stove top that you would take camping, and I would say,”job well done!”
Then lastly I would tell you that we don’t have air condition or central heating, but we have a fire-place like stove that heats both the guys and girls side of our house. Don’t, worry, I’ll post pictures and video later. Then we have a “refrigerator” in the ground made of concrete in rock that we sometimes place things in to keep cold, but the outside usually works well to keep them cold.
Well, I’m running out of time!!! Last Lastly, today in church I helped lead worship with JohnFrank my teammate. I sang while he played and I must say I was extremely nervous! I’ve never sang in front of a group of people like that, but it was so awesome to lead God’s people in worship. The next time it comes around, I definitely won’t be afraid because fear is not of God but of the enemy!
Then when next Sunday rolls around, I will PREACH! Yes, preach!!!! So pleas be praying that God will give me the words to speak and that He will open hearts to His word, and nothing I say will be of me.
Well, I have to go but hopefully you will here from me again at least within the next Sunday! Videos and pictures to come as soon as possible, and please please pray for me and my team!!! I love you all and thank you for following!!! Blessings to you all, and God bless!! Happy Easter, and remember that Christ is Risen and He is ALIVE!!! 🙂
