On Friday the 13th,  after much anticipation and almost 9 months  of waiting, my squad finally launched to the Dominican Republic. After a total of about 16-17 hours of traveling (first walking 30 minutes with all of our gear, 30 minutes on a train, 4 hours or so waiting at the airport for our flight, a 3 hour flight to the DR, and another 3 hour drive crammed in a van with all of our gear), we finally made it to our beautiful two story house which we are currently sharing with two other squads, a total of 21 people.  As difficult as life could be here, it’s actually quite pleasant. As far as that goes, you’ll have to wait for my next blog, “Life in the D.R.”. Love you all and can’t wait to share this amazing journey with you all! God bless and I’ll TTY soon!!!!!
