Please forgive me for the late delay in posting, but I have literally had zero opportunity to post a blog in a long time because I forgot my computer charger in another town, we haven’t had consistent internet at all, and if I have had internet, my blog wasn’t able to open up for me to post anything on it.  So here we go!

This blog will start off talking about debrief very briefly, then it will cut into our travels.  So we left Moldova back on May the something, and then we arrived on the 6th to Bucharest, Romania one last time for our debrief and departure to South Africa/Mozambique.

In that time while being in Bucharest, God specifically hand picked some amazing people to minister to us for those four days.  When we’re on the Race specifically, we don’t always have someone to call us out on things or give us a different perspective on what we may be feeling or we may just be lacking the knowledge that something in us internally just isn’t right.  That’s where Squad Parents and the AIM staff come in to play.  They fly into where we meet for our debrief and pray for us, meet our needs, ask us the tough questions, bring us candy, and ultimately they point us in the right direction again for the next month of ministry.  If we honestly didn’t have these wonderful people come in to speak life into us and challenge us during those few days, then we would ultimately be wondering aimlessly not knowing how to deal with teammates or our problems correctly, which would cause things to become even more toxic in our community living if not dealt with properly.  So in that, God did a lot of amazing things and brought a lot of healing in a lot of people.  So thanks goes out to Momma Rozy, Bill Swan, Joni, and Lesley?
Lastly we had to say goodbye to our then Squad-Leaders (Past World Racers who came back for 4 months to raise up new squad leaders from our Squad), and now “Squad Consultants.”  That was a little tough, but we’re excited for the direction that God is already leading them in and what amazing things He has for their futures.

So after leaving our amazing debrief in Bucharest, Romania on the 10th at 8 p.m., we finally arrived to our contacts Felito and Anna’s house at around midnight on the 13th.  You may say wow, but I say Oh my lanta! After one 9 hour bus ride, a layover from 4 a.m.-10:40 p.m. on the 11th, followed by a one hour flight to Istanbul, Turkey, another 9 hour flight to Johannesburg, South Africa, and a 5 hour “bus” drive to Maputo, Mozambique, we almost made it to our final destination!  Yes, ALMOST, which included one last 30 minute ride in the cold Mozambiquen  air.  Cold you ask?  Yes, because it is the start of winter here in Africa so during the day it is moderately warm and at night it’s much cooler for an all around beautiful day!

So that night we arrived, ate dinner, unpacked our luggage, and then called it a night.  These days would then lead into quite an adventure!
