The past week and a half has been busy! It all started on the morning of the 31st when I caught an early morning flight to San Francisco. I hung out at the airport until one of my Squad Leaders, Daniel, arrived. He and I headed out on the city for a day of adventure. We had a great time checking out a few of the touristy parts of the city and even saw some sea lions! We met up with the rest of the group later that night at the airport where we slept. On the morning of the 1st we began our three days of travel to Chiang Mai, Thailand, which included a 14-hour flight, a four-hour flight, and an 11-hour bus ride.

We were given a day to rest in the city before we headed out into the wilderness to begin training camp. Training camp was an intense four days of pressing into new ways to discover and interact with God and addressing any issues from our past that we hadn’t fully processed. God moved in training camp and our squad developed open, intimate relationships. At the end of training camp, our squad was broken into four teams. Our teams consist of the people we will be in community with everyday and be serving alongside for the next 11 months.

Our assignment last night was to go out and make a memory with our new team. My team and I went and enjoyed an awesome dinner on the river in Chiang Mai and released Chinese lanterns into the sky with prayers that we had written on them. Despite one small scare, we lit no buildings on fire with our lanterns. I am so excited about what is in store for the next 11 months and am even more excited to keep you all a part of it. It hasn’t even been two weeks but I miss you all very much! Please keep in touch and God bless!
