We just wrapped up our first two weeks of ministry in Thailand. The first week of ministry included: prayer walks, monk chats, worship at Thapae Gate, and playing with kids in the slums. The second week we spent in a rice village in northern Thailand. Ministry in the village was awesome! We worked in the rice fields in the morning, preparing fields for seeding and building mud walls around the fields. In the afternoons we played with the kids and explored.
My favorite part of ministry is building relationships. One of the many things I value about the Adventures in Missions is that they want to focus on developing genuine relationships with people and loving them well. To quote Emmi, our host in Chiang Mai, we want to have “Jesus on our skin.”
Later today, my squad and I make the trek to Cambodia. The trip will include several bus and van rides and a border crossing. Prayers would be appreciated. My team and I will be serving at a church in Northern Cambodia, teaching English, leading children’s programs, and planting gardens. I am not sure what the internet situation will look like in Cambodia but I will be in touch again as soon as possible!
