Hey everyone I’m in Nicaragua for the last chapter of my race. I’m staying with Pastor Aristides and his family here they have been so great to us! We have been helping them in a few different ways from running and English class through the church for the community to running the radio station at night. Mostly though we have been helping by building the new radio room and the second floor room and deck. It has been a lot but It has been awesome to see the progress. Guess I can check masonry off the to-do list.
About two weeks ago my friend Evan and I where walking back to the pastors house after a soccer game. We decided to stop and talk with this older woman that we see everyday. She always sits right outside her house and we call her our abuela(grandma). She always has a huge smile on her face everyday. That day we stopped and she told us that she had a severe pain that was in her leg and went up her back and into her head. We saw the pain on her face as she walked toward us to sit in her chair that we always see her in. We decided there that we would pray for her, asking permission of course. She said yes and so we layed Hands on her and prayed it went a little like…
“God we thank you for this woman that you placed in our life we pray in Jesus name that this woman would be healed of all pain in her body. Amen”
She looked up at us with a huge smile on her face. You could see the Joy in her eyes as she said “Gloria A Dios” (Glory to God). Evan translated as she told us that she had absolutely no pain in her body. God is good always.
Even if God didn’t heal that woman of her pain she still would have felt the love that the Holy Spirit had brought through Evan and I taking our time stepping out of our comfort zone to share the love of Jesus Christ to others. So take some time to just pray for someone today, it might be just the thing they need.
So now I’m faced with the soon to be reality I will be coming home in about 2 and a half weeks. The race has gone by so fast and I’m excited to step into what’s next (whatever it maybe). I have grown more in Christ in these last 9 months that I could have ever expected. I’m excited to return home and share with everyone all that I’ve learned. Thank you all so much for your support( financial and through prayer) and love throughout these last 9 months. God bless!
