I am not sure exactly what to expect for my missions trip. I do know that I will be pushed to my limits, carrying everything in a backpack and sleeping in a tent. I know that I will miss my close family and friends over the 9 months that I am gone. I will be pushed out of my comfort zone and will do things that I have probably never done before. I will have to meet new people and see new things. I will have to adapt to the various cultures and rely on Gods help for endurance. I am ready for God to throw me on a crazy journey like this and he already has as I trust him to help fund raise this trip. While on the trip I expect to get to know the people, aid them wherever they need help. I expect to go and be used by God to help in all ways possible to help further his kingdom.
The website tells future World Racers what they should expect and try to be ready for, below is the list: On the World Race, you might…
…build a house.
…teach English.
…care for orphans.
…dig holes.
…worship with complete freedom and utter abandon.
…preach and pray door-to-door, hut-to-hut, and dorm-to-dorm.
…feed the hungry
…befriend teenage prostitutes.
…encourage pastors and missionaries around the world.
…heal the sick.
…pioneer a ministry.
…hear God’s voice.
…repair broken homes, families, and hearts.
…share your story.
…meet felt needs.
…visit people in prison.
…yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
These are all possibilities that I could be doing and I am sure there are many others that are not on this list. I can try to prepare for a trip like this, but I’m sure that no matter what I do to prepare, I cant be prepared for what God will do on this trip.
