Have you ever had a passion?
Have you had a love for something that was rooted so deep you scarcely had a day where you didn’t think about it?
Have you had a longing in your heart that you thought you could replace but it just wouldn’t go away?
Have you ever felt an injustice grip you so fiercely that you knew you had to respond?
Have you ever come across a social issue that sparked righteous anger in you because it was so unjust or inhumane?
Have you ever had a passion?
Any sane person will ask the question, “Why are you doing this?”. Why leave you’re perfectly comfortable life to travel into poverty and uncertainty with not even a proper bed to rest in? I’ll tell you why; because I have a passion, because my heart longs to serve. By design I am a mercy giver, God has placed in me a longing to respond to the emotional and spiritual needs of others. This is what motivates my every action, my love of HIM and my love of the broken people he calls his own. I feel an amazing sense of peace, because I know this is what I am called to, this is where I am meant to be.
“The King will reply, ‘I tell you, whenever you refused to help one of these least important ones, you refused to help me.”
Matthew 25:45
